Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, and what I do with it. Short version: I only use your details to reply to you, and I don't sell them to anyone.
Who I am
gbfm is a one-person web development studio run by Stephen in New York. If you have a question about this policy or your information, email stephen@gbfm.dev.
What I collect
When you contact me. The contact form asks for your name, email, phone number (optional), the kind of project, and your message. If you email me directly, I get whatever you include in the email.
When you refer a business. The referral form asks for your name, email, and phone (optional), plus the business you're referring: its name, who to ask for, how to reach them, their website (optional), and any notes. You confirm on the form that they know you're passing their details along.
When you browse the site. I use Google Analytics to see which pages get visited, roughly where visitors are, what devices and browsers they use, and how they found the site. It uses cookies to do that (named _ga and _ga_ZVQHZ2L53K). The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs and measures how fast pages load for visitors. I don't run ads, retargeting, or social media tracking pixels.
How I use it
- To reply to you, send a quote, and work on your project.
- To contact a business you referred, and to pay you the referral reward if they become a client.
- To understand how the site is used so I can improve it.
I don't sell or rent your information, and I don't add you to a mailing list. I won't text you.
Where it's kept
Form submissions are received through Netlify and sent to my email (Google Workspace). From there, leads go into my own private customer system that only I can access. Analytics data is kept by Google.
Who else sees it
Only the services that run the site and my email: Netlify (hosting and forms), Google (Analytics and email). I'd share information beyond that only if the law required it.
How long I keep it
As long as it's useful for talking with you or working together, and as long as I need it for my business records. You can ask me to delete your details at any time.
If someone referred you
If you got an email or call from me because someone sent me your business's details, that's where I got them. I'll reach out once. If you'd rather not hear from me, or want your details removed, just reply or email stephen@gbfm.dev.
Your choices
- Email me to see, correct, or delete what I have about you.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, to stop Google Analytics.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn't meant for children under 13. I don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date below.
